Our pediatric dentist, Dr. Chung, focuses on the oral health of young people. Following dental school, a pediatric dentist has two to three years additional specialty training in the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health needs.
We recommend that a child begin dental visits at one year of age. To prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, usually between 6 and 12 months of age, certainly no later than his/her first birthday. Statistics show that children who learn to take care of their teeth at a young age are more likely to have good dental habits as grown-ups.
